The General Secretariat of the World Federation of Teachers’ Unions FISE pays tribute to Comrade Kim Jong Il on the 14th anniversary of his death and expresses international solidarity with the General Federation of Korean Trade Unions GFKTU and the education workers of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Dear Comrades,
On behalf of the General Secretariat of the World Federation of Teachers’ Unions FISE, affiliated with the World Federation of Trade Unions WFTU, we wish to address you on this date of December 17 2025, our most fraternal revolutionary greetings and our feelings of profound class solidarity.
This day marks the 14th anniversary of the passing of Comrade Kim Jong Il, great leader of the Korean people, great Korean trade unionist, tireless defender of national sovereignty, the socialist path, and the well-being of the workers. His legacy of dedication to the cause of the emancipation of the working masses and resistance against imperialism and the forces of aggression remains a source of inspiration for all peoples struggling for their freedom and dignity.
We take this opportunity to pay tribute to this great revolutionary and to reaffirm our unwavering support for your just struggle for:
- The defense of national sovereignty and the inalienable right of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea DPRK to choose its own path of social and economic development, free from all foreign interference.
- The consolidation of the socialist system, which places workers, peasants, and intellectuals at the heart of the social project, guaranteeing fundamental social, educational, and cultural rights.
- The struggle against imperialist policies isolation, illegal sanctions and constant threats that weigh on your people and hinder their peaceful development. We strongly condemn these unilateral coercive measures.
- The tireless work of Korean educators who, in the spirit of Juche and under the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea, strive to instill in younger generations the values of patriotism, science, and service to the community.
FISE, as part of its commitment to international solidarity, anti-imperialism, and the rights of education workers worldwide, considers the struggle of the Korean people an integral part of our common fight against exploitation, for peace, and for a socialist future.
We express our profound conviction that the Korean people, under the wise leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea, will continue to overcome all challenges and achieve new victories in building a prosperous nation. Powerful.
