Following the call for a general strike in India on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, by the Joint Platform of the Central Trade Union and the Independent Association of India, this strike call has been given to oppose the pro corporate and pro privatization policies of Government of India, and demands the repeal of the undemocratic Labour Code, fair deals to peasants, restoration of old pension scheme, withdrawal of retrograde National Education Policy 2020.
The General Secretariat of the World Federation of Teachers’ Unions (WFTU) expresses its solidarity support to the General Strike in India and appeal to all its affiliates to actively participate in it and make it Grand Success.
